Hi.

Downloaded (potentially) great software, but new little netbook is having problems running it. (Samsung nc10, running xp)

Left side of screen displays play titles, right side scenes etc., but middle screen (where text/dialogue ought to be) is blank. When I "select all," it turns middle screen black and text appears white.

What gives?

Dick

I wish, the present times were as colorful as the colors on this screen/post are, alas, its not!

I wonder if we all are in a kind of state that Prophet Jonah was once, sleeping like a baby, when the "whole ship" is battling a storm.. well I will not say, that its a storm we saw ever before.

At the same time, I wonder, why not lets use this "oppurtunity" like Nehemiah and emerge like a "Doer"..

By the way, I'm trying to hit multiple (not just two) birds here with just one "stone" (no, I dont like to kill birds but spiders!)

However, I guess at times, its good to not to focus on the issues and just relax and let the time roll on its on, after all its the dimension that none of us can control, can we?

I heard the name Obama first time I guess sometime during late 2006.

As a new LPR in the States I was thrilled to have a first hand experience of the US Presidential Elections 2008.

Well the moment, I heard the name Obama, the only point came to my mind, was no way, no how, no obama and my hopes were clingin on to some "messiah" who will come and take the US out of the Iraq 'mistake' and things will be sorted out.

As the story unfolded, I heard this gentleman from Chicago speaking that made more sense than anybody else said, and on the GOP side it was really a chaos getting unfolded which started reaching climax with the introduction of Ms Palin into the national politics (by the way, I was already familiar with Gov Palin, not because of her outstanding achievements in Alaska but for her looks!!) as McCain's VP selection. Furthermore the final nail into GOP's presidential bid was nailed with Sen. McCain suspending his campaign during the ~700B Financial bailout (well, it has now snow balled into more than 1 Trillion in some aspects!).

Finally even my adrinalin levels were skyrocketting by the time final presidential debates were being performed, and despite my strong conservative ideology, I really wanted Mr. Obama to lead the US into 2009, not because I have now changed my lanes, BUT due to the simple fact that its an irony that GOP didnt send anyone who was worthy enough to lead the United States of America from 2009 till 2012.

Hmmmmm... I do hear something familiar which goes like .... "We the people...".

Gob Bless America!!

Cool!, having read books; among those, the fountainhead and I was pleased enough with We...(another great Russian nov) to commiserate its value here - but, but, but - as a novel it's, like, ok and as a work of philosophy, or a wedge stone in Rand's grand Cathedral it seems more pertinent.

For a first novel by an acclaimed authoir it has the same tendencies most new authors eschew: the infallible plot (fallible plot?) substantiated by seemingly real-life experiences, a love story or something of the human drama in a mildly atypical format; that it is post White-Red War Russia is cool, but, like I'd say that its shallow and covets its realism as a mechanism to disguise its inability, I should say, her inability to move beyond the tendencies of a a-b-c-abc plot and really her writing is turgid or something.

Read, Envy.
If you want a simple Russian novel, as this is, and not worth any less for its simplicity, read Chekov. There are a lot of interesting scenes with soap in We The Living and the prose, is pretty solid.

I would love for a good book rec. e-mail me at pacayasong@gmail.com

Not a bad analysis, but you have the Christian viewpoint, at least as expressed by Paul, incorrect. Paul did not believe in a disembodied soul living forever. He believed in the soul "sleeping" until the time of the general resurrection, at the return of the Lord. At that time each soul will be awaken and given a new body, a new physicality. That new body will live forever ("imperishable"). Paul viewed this new embodiment as a part of God's larger renewal of all creation. A careful analysis of Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 and Romans 8 makes these points.
